Staff Accountant II

United Plant Growers is a house plant grower and distributor servicing garden centers throughout the western United States. We are searching for dedicated individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment and are looking to grow with our company.

We are adding a Staff Accountant II to our Accounting Team. The Staff Accountant II provides direct support and assistance to the Controller and is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close and required reporting.

Primary Duties:

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting and inter-company reconciliations.
• Post cash transactions and prepare cash forecast for management to review weekly; reconcile bank accounts monthly.
• Perform credit card reconciliations and apply payments via bank deposits.
• Maintain prepaid transactions and balances.
• Manage all fixed asset details from, requests, approvals, capitalization, disposal and monthly depreciation.
• Post payroll entries to the GL.
• Manage lease and rent schedules.
• Assist in inventory cost, variance analysis and reporting.
• Assist with Accounts Payable projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience working in a mid-market ERP system; Dynamics BC a plus.
• Proficient computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software programs.
• Must be highly proficient in Excel, with a proven ability to construct dynamic Pivot Tables and apply advanced formulas, such as XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc., to reconcile sub-ledgers and analyze monthly variances

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000 annually
