Virtual CTO is seeking an experienced Senior UI/UX App Designer to join our growing team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the digital experiences for innovative applications in a fast-paced environment. Based in Sydney NSW 2000, this role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge design principles and modern design tools. You will take a strategic approach to user interface and user experience design, ensuring that every interaction is intuitive, engaging and aligned with business objectives. As a senior designer, you will play a pivotal role in establishing design standards and driving the creative vision of our digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop user interfaces and user experiences for mobile and web applications, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and design systems
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate design concepts
• Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design tools
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers and stakeholders to translate requirements into compelling design solutions
• Establish and maintain design patterns, component libraries and design documentation for ongoing use across projects
• Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Participate in design reviews and present design rationale to cross-functional teams
• Stay current with emerging design trends, technologies and best practices in UI/UX design
• Optimise user journeys and interface interactions to enhance user satisfaction and product engagement

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design or interaction design, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in app design
