As a Sales Development Representative, you are the engine for Backlight’s growth, identifying and engaging potential clients to build a robust sales pipeline. You'll be the first point of contact, strategically connecting with inbound leads and uncovering qualified opportunities that fuel our sales engine.


Responsibilities

  • Research and prospect into target accounts, identifying key decision-makers.
  • Execute high-quality outbound and inbound outreach via phone, email, and social channels.
  • Qualify leads using established frameworks and set initial discovery meetings for Account Executives.
  • Nurture early-stage relationships and provide valuable insights to prospects.
  • Meticulously manage your pipeline within our CRM.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine go-to-market strategies.

Requirements
You've got the foundational skills to hit the ground running.

  • 1-2 years in B2B sales development or a similar client-facing role.
  • Proven ability to prospect, engage, and qualify leads across multiple channels.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools.
  • Resilience and a proactive, persistent approach to achieving goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and articulate complex value propositions.

Bonus points

  • Familiarity with the SMB market.
  • Familiarity with media asset management (MAM), digital asset management (DAM), and/or video technology companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
