Manager, Accounting Advisory – Accounting & Operations - 100% Remote

Principal Consulting Group is a fast-growing advisory firm founded by Big 4 alumni, specializing in technical accounting, finance transformation, and NetSuite consulting for startups and mid-market companies. We are expanding our Accounting Operations & Transformation practice and seeking an Accounting Manager with expertise in month-end close, accounting operations, process improvement, and accounting remediation. This role supports multiple client engagements, including interim management to ensure continuity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing teams in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments (pre-IPO and public companies) and leveraging technology to drive operational excellence. Familiarity with AI-powered finance tools, MCP, and AI agent workflows is preferred.

This is a dynamic, fully remote, client-facing consulting role in a fast-paced environment, offering flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate closely with diverse client teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute month-end close processes across multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Diagnose and resolve gaps in accounting workflows, documentation, and internal controls
• Lead initiatives that streamline close processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen controls
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and workpapers
• Support technical accounting areas including revenue recognition, leases, and equity-related transactions
• Apply modern tools and automation, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance accounting processes while adhering to security and compliance standards
• Supervise and develop onshore and offshore team members, including coaching, performance feedback, and work review
• Ensure quality and consistency of deliverables in line with firm and client expectations
