Lead Full Stack Developer (Next.js / React / Node)

About this role

Overview

We're looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer to take ownership of our product and drive it to the next level. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role: you'll own the technical direction across our entire product suite, including the public website, the installer platform, the customer/user platform and the broker platform.

You'll work directly with the founder on product and architecture, set the standards the rest of the team builds to, and mentor and manage our existing developer. We want someone who can take real ownership, raise the quality bar, make sound architecture decisions independently, and lead the product to a more mature and scalable level.

Our stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Bootstrap and custom CSS, Node, AWS, PostgreSQL.

AI-Assisted Development
We work with modern AI development tools as a core part of how we build, and we expect this person to do the same. The days of writing every line by hand are behind us, and we want someone who can use these tools to ship faster without compromising on quality.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, and able to use them to accelerate delivery across the stack
• Reviews, tests and takes full responsibility for AI-generated code, ensuring it meets our standards for quality, security and maintainability
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift, balancing speed with sound engineering judgement

OWNERSHIP & LEADERSHIP
• Take ownership of the product end to end, across the website, installer platform, user platform and broker platform
• Lead the technical direction: define architecture, set code standards, and drive the product to a higher level of quality, scalability and maintainability
