About the Role

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing commercial real estate/property management team. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions supporting a portfolio of properties, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, owner distributions, CAM reconciliations, and tenant billings.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines while working collaboratively with property management and asset management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank and trust account reconciliations
• Process accounts payable and recurring expenses
• Prepare monthly owner distributions and tenant statements
• Monitor accounts receivable, delinquency reports, and recurring billbacks
• Prepare monthly financial statements for Property Management and Asset Management review
• Maintain mortgage schedules, escrow analyses, and property tax payment schedules
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Complete annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company policies

Qualifications

• Minimum of **5 years of accounting experience**, preferably in commercial real estate or property management
• Strong knowledge of **GAAP** and property accounting principles
• Experience with accounting and property management software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
