Position Description

The Experienced Staff Accountant will play a key role in assisting with the Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statement closes for STX Entertainment. The position will report to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Prepare Journal Entries – Including but not limited to:
- Revenue recognition
- Amortization of theatrical
- Theatrical bad debt reserve
- Digital revenue accrual
- Reclasses necessary for classified balance sheet
- Debt
- Prepare Monthly/Quarterly Account Reconciliations
- Review bank reconciliations and ensure that all cash entries have been recorded
- Prepare audit and roll-forward schedules for external audits
- Research pronouncements to validate proper accounting GAAP treatment
- Prepare the revenue recognition memo for new theatrical titles
- Ad hoc requests to support the Accounting & Finance functions

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• CPA, desirable with 1-3 years of public/private experience in Entertainment (Big 4 experience desired, mid-tier public accounting experience is acceptable).
• Participation experience desired
• Theatrical Film and Digital Distribution experience a plus
• Exposure to production accounting a plus
• Proficient understanding of NetSuite a plus
• Excellent verbal & written skills
• Advance knowledge of Excel
• Understanding of accounting principles and accounting functions
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
