SEO Technical Specialist

EngineRoom is an Australian, remote-first digital growth agency. We are looking for a Technical SEO Specialist to own and improve the technical SEO health of our client websites.

This is a hands-on role where you will lead technical SEO audits, fix complex issues, and work closely with SEO strategists and developers to ensure websites are scalable, fast, and optimised for growth.

You will be the technical authority within the SEO team.

## What You’ll Do

Technical SEO Ownership

• Run regular technical SEO audits and prioritise fixes
• Identify and resolve complex SEO issues
• Act as the escalation point for advanced technical challenges
• Prevent recurring issues through strong standards and QA

CMS & Developer Collaboration

• Work across CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Silverstripe, and Wix
• Implement technical fixes directly where possible
• Scope, brief, and QA technical work for developers
• Review and sign off changes before and after release

Performance & Site Health

• Improve site speed and Core Web Vitals
• Diagnose crawlability, indexation, JavaScript, and rendering issues
• Manage redirects, canonicals, duplicate content, and site architecture
• Support international SEO and AI-ready site structures when required

Migrations & Rebuilds

• Lead technical SEO planning for site migrations and rebuilds
• Ensure clean redirects, content parity, and minimal traffic loss
• QA sites pre- and post-launch

Documentation & Team Support

• Document findings, fixes, and best practices
• Create technical SEO SOPs and checklists
• Support and upskill SEO strategists with technical guidance
