Position overview:
The ideal candidate is a US-based Senior Data Engineer who can step into an established enterprise data warehouse environment as a hands-on contributor and a peer-level thought partner to the client's data leadership. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running on a complex Oracle and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) stack, plus AWS, bring opinionated patterns and alternatives to the table, and operate independently without day-to-day direction.
The successful candidate will balance maintaining a stable, well-established production environment with helping shape the next generation of the platform, including the team's adoption of Apache Iceberg, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native ETL.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data flow and transformation patterns across an enterprise Oracle data warehouse environment.
- Partner with the client database and platform teams to manage external tables, flat files, and high-volume batch ingestion.
- Identify and implement performance optimizations at the storage, query, and orchestration layers, including across a long-standing production warehouse with accumulated business logic.
