The Role

This is not a transactional accounting role. The Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining job cost accuracy, strengthening project financial visibility, and improving how financial data supports operational decision-making. You will work directly with Project Managers and serve as the execution arm of the Director of Finance.

This role requires someone who can operate in a fast-moving environment, enforce discipline, and continuously improve processes.

Core Responsibilities

• Own job cost structures, budgets, and cost code integrity
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and identify cost variances
• Track committed costs, subcontractors, and vendor activity
• Maintain WIP schedules and support percent-complete revenue recognition
• Analyze margin fade/gain and escalate risks early
• Ensure alignment between costs, contracts, POs, and billing milestones
• Support accurate milestone billing and revenue timing
• Improve accuracy and timeliness of project financial reporting

• Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and cost tracking
