GL Accountant

About this role

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an GL Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year.


Job Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including entries, reconciliations, and general ledger work.
• Assist with monthly and yearly close activities and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Support compliance with accounting rules, internal procedures, and reporting standards.
• Process customer billing, vendor payments, and credit card activity with proper documentation.
• Prepare financial summaries and support audit requests, tax work, and general accounting projects.

Requirements

• Ability to work with accounting systems and sales systems while maintaining accurate data.
• Skill in reviewing orders and confirming information before invoices are issued.
• Previous experience supporting close routines, reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks.
• Clear communication skills when working with cross functional teams.
• Strong organization and the ability to stay steady and professional during heavy workloads.

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting, finance, or related study, or practical experience in similar roles.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a business environment.
• A solid understanding of common accounting principles and general ledger activity.
• Knowledge of sales tax or related filing activities for multiple regions.
• Previous experience using Excel, ERP systems such as NetSuite, and tools like Salesforce.
