About this role
RGZ Construction is looking for an experienced Commercial Project Manager to take ownership of our awarded projects from handoff through closeout. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and knows how to protect a project's schedule, budget, and margin at every stage. You'll work closely with estimating, field leadership, and general contractors to keep jobs moving, costs in check, and clients satisfied. If you have a strong background in commercial subcontracting, know how to read a set of drawings cold, and aren't afraid to negotiate a change order aggressively, we want to talk to you.
Core Responsibilities
- Review awarded projects including scope, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential risks.
- Conduct project handoff meetings with estimating and field teams.
- Develop material procurement and manpower plans.
- Submit submittals, RFIs, and required project documentation.
Field & Production Support
- Coordinate directly with superintendents and foremen to support efficient production.
- Monitor manpower levels, productivity, and installation sequencing.
- Assist in resolving site conflicts, access issues, and coordination problems.
- Perform periodic site visits to verify progress and quality.
Financial & Cost Control
- Manage project budgets and track labor, materials, and subcontract costs.
- Review job cost reports and take corrective action when needed.
- Prepare, price, and negotiate change orders aggressively and timely.
- Submit monthly pay applications and track collections.
- Protect company margin by identifying out-of-scope work.
Schedule Management
- Review and understand GC master schedules.
- Coordinate work activities to maintain progress milestones.
- Identify delays early and document impacts.
