About the role:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of building automation and controls projects from installation through commissioning and turnover. This role is responsible for managing defined portions of projects and smaller-scale jobs while developing the skills required for full project ownership.

Working under the guidance of a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager, the APM plays a key role in coordinating field activities, maintaining project documentation, and supporting budget and schedule tracking. This position is designed as a transitional step toward a full Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution Support

Assist in coordinating day-to-day execution of BAS/controls projects to ensure alignment with engineering designs, schedules, and customer requirements.
Manage defined scopes of work or smaller projects under supervision.
Support development and maintenance of project schedules, including milestone tracking and updates.

Documentation & Project Controls

Obtain, organize, and maintain project documentation including contracts, drawings, and specifications.
Assist in reviewing submittals and drawing packages prior to field execution.
Maintain accurate project records in DivPro, including notes, milestones, and billing support data.

Field & Subcontractor Coordination

Coordinate subcontractors and Controls Technicians for assigned project scopes.
