Overview

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable background to join a fast-growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company in San Diego. This is a hands-on role supporting AP, AR, reconciliations, expense reports, reporting, and month-end close. The company recently moved to NetSuite, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working in ERP systems, using Excel to organize and reconcile data, and solving problems without needing heavy handholding. This is a great fit for someone who has practical accounting experience, understands the flow of purchase orders, receiving, vendor invoices, payments, customer billing, and collections, and enjoys improving organization and process in a growing business.

What You’ll Do

Own day-to-day Accounts Payable processing, including vendor invoices, approvals, coding, PO matching, receiving document review, and payment preparation
Prepare weekly AP payment runs, including ACH, wires, and occasional check payments
Work through AP discrepancies by partnering with Purchasing, Receiving, Supply Chain, Operations, and vendors
Support Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, cash application, customer follow-up, aging review, and billing discrepancy resolution
Prepare and maintain AP aging, AR aging, customer balance, and vendor balance reports using NetSuite and Excel
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, vendor accounts, customer accounts, and other AP/AR-related balances
Manage manual expense report processing, including receipt review, coding, approval follow-up, and payment processing
Support month-end close by ensuring invoices, payments, receipts, credit card activity, and reconciliations are complete and accurate
Enter journal entries as needed and support account reconciliation schedules
Assist with vendor prepayments, W-9 tracking, 1099 support, resale certificates, and customer/vendor master data
