Accountant Job Description

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for the daily maintenance of accounting records and assists other departments in the interpretation of accounting entries and reports. Performs detailed accounting assignments which include but are not limited to reviewing and analyzing journal vouchers, bank statement reconciliations, posts adjustments, vendor management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sub general ledger fixed assets, depreciation, and accrual schedules and general accounting functions, etc. which includes using a variety of computer programs. Other duties include but are not limited to assisting in determining the credit union's liquidity position, accruing, and posting investment dividend checks and investment interest, and assisting in compiling and input/download data for budgets, and monthly Board Reports as assigned. Will be responsible for back up duties in the Payment Service or Operations Department and Mastercard as needed. Complete other miscellaneous duties as assigned within the department.
