Accountant

About this role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Accountant to join our family office accounting team. This role will support the day-to-day accounting, reporting, cash management, and financial operations of a complex family office structure that includes personal, investment, and entity-level accounting. With a lean three-person accounting team, this position requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, managing competing priorities, and working collaboratively in a highly confidential environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and internal reports for family members and management
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Track and record investment activity, capital calls, distributions, and partnership allocations

Cash Management

• Process accounts payable and oversee bill payments
• Monitor bank accounts and cash balances
• Prepare wire transfers and ACH transactions
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning

Entity & Investment Accounting

• Maintain accounting records for trusts, LLCs, partnerships, and other family entities
• Reconcile brokerage and investment accounts
• Coordinate with external investment advisors and custodians
• Track ownership structures and intercompany transactions

Special Projects

• Assist with process improvements and system enhancements
• Support family office initiatives, acquisitions, and ad hoc financial analyses
• Participate in projects related to estate planning, philanthropy, and family investments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Salary: $85,000 – $105,000
