About the Opportunity:

This organization is an all-in-one personal finance platform designed to simplify financial management. Since its launch in 2021, it has become a top-recommended personal finance app by users and experts. The Staff Accountant role supports the accounting team during a period of growth and transition by managing core accounting processes and helping build scalable workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and recurring journal entries

• Support month-end close by preparing schedules, tie-outs, and journal entries for accurate financial reporting

• Collaborate with Senior Accountant and Controller to transition accounting processes from outsourced providers to internal management

• Improve and document accounting processes and controls to enhance audit readiness and scalability

• Work cross-functionally with FP&A, HR, and Finance leadership to support reporting and operational requirements

Requirements:

• 2 to 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in startups or high-growth environments

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred

• Practical experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close

• Familiarity with accounting systems like QuickBooks Online or similar ERP and AP/expense tools

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills in deadline-driven settings

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with appropriate escalation

• Interest in process improvement, automation, and scaling accounting functions in B2C or SaaS environments
