Position Summary: CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Sr Data Platform Engineer to be responsible for administering, testing, and implementing databases and applying knowledge of database management systems. Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability. Apply intricate knowledge of database internals with responsibility for database configuration, tuning, maintenance, patching, and problem diagnosis and resolution. Responsible for all aspects of the physical database including schemas, DDL, users, and security in development, UAT and production environments. Identify and resolve problems occurring in all database environments including performance related issues (e.g., database and SQL tuning). Modify existing databases and database management systems by writing and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system, or direct others in coding descriptions. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure by routinely testing programs or databases, correcting errors, and making necessary modifications. Support database administration utilities, reorganizations, and index builds. Contribute to performance and Disaster Recovery testing.
