Senior Data Engineer

The Role

• Design and own the end-to-end data architecture, including secure cloud storage, ingestion pipelines, and a curated analytics layer.
• Build ingestion pipelines for diverse data formats (CSV/JSON/XML/HL7/X12) with schema validation and full lineage.
• Stand up and operate a curated data layer (data warehouse/lakehouse-lite) for analytics and ML models.
• Select, integrate, and operate essential data tools, including object storage, orchestrators, and validation libraries.
• Design and enforce data governance in a HIPAA-regulated environment, covering PHI/PII classification, encryption, and access control.
• Partner with various stakeholders to define data contracts and ensure data quality.

What You'll Need

• BS/BA degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional data engineering experience with a track record of shipping production data systems.
• Mastery of PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, query tuning, and operating at scale.
• Strong experience in designing and operating data pipelines for file-based and API-based ingestion.
• Strong experience with dbt (or equivalent SQL-based transformation framework) and modern data modeling patterns.
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and their data primitives.
• Experience with at least one orchestration framework (Dagster, Prefect, or Airflow).
• Strong Python skills for ingestion, validation, and tooling.
