ActioNet has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team supporting the next generation of cloud-native data analytics and production systems for one of the nation’s leading public data sources. The Cloud Engineer will play a key role in transforming legacy on-premises systems into scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud-native architectures supporting data production pipelines, dissemination platforms, and web-based analytics applications.
Salary Range: 170,000-218,000
This role will focus on AWS cloud migration, containerized application platforms, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps/CI/CD automation. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with customers, architects, developers, and operations teams to understand existing application architectures, develop migration strategies, and design and implement scalable AWS solutions.
## Key Responsibilities
- Conduct **cloud readiness assessments** and develop migration strategies and implementation plans for transitioning applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Analyze existing application architectures and recommend **cloud-native modernization and migration approaches** that improve scalability, availability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Design, build, and deploy scalable AWS cloud solutions using services such as **EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch**.
- Develop and manage **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** using **Terraform** and/or CloudFormation to automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and orchestration of AWS infrastructure.
- Design, deploy, and maintain **containerized applications** using **Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm Charts**, supporting both stateful and stateless workloads.
