Our real estate client is looking for a Senior Accountant. This position is hybrid located in Downtown LA, CA.
- Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 + discretionary bonus
Responsibilities:
- Review and oversee accounting activities and financial reporting for a portfolio of assets managed by third-party teams.
- Analyze monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Review journal entries and accounting for capital transactions, asset activity, debt, acquisitions, dispositions, and other complex events.
- Partner with property management, operations, and finance teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, strengthen controls, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Provide guidance and oversight to remote accounting staff and assist leadership with special projects, reporting, and financial analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, investment, or public accounting environments.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes.
- CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with experience partnering across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing processes, improving controls, and mentoring junior staff is a plus.
