# Principal Cloud Engineer

## FedPoint is seeking an experienced and strategic Principal Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. This role is responsible for driving cloud strategy, mentoring engineering teams, and building secure, scalable, and resilient AWS-based solutions that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, automation, DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud security frameworks including NIST 800-53. This individual will collaborate across engineering, security, and business teams to modernize infrastructure, improve operational excellence, and enable innovation through cloud technologies.

The team is committed to delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions that support business objectives while maintaining a forward-thinking and service-oriented approach.

## Key Responsibilities

### Cloud Architecture and Strategy

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud architectures.
• Develop and execute the organization’s cloud strategy in alignment with business goals and evolving technologies.
• Define and maintain cloud governance standards, operational models, and architectural best practices.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to implement controls aligned with NIST 800-53.
• Participate in Architecture Review Boards and Cloud Center of Excellence initiatives to drive standards and governance.

### Technical Leadership and Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to cloud engineering and DevOps teams.
