Junior Java developer - UK BASED ONLY

Type: Remote | Salary: 300 GBP per day

A leading technology consultancy that partners with the public sector is looking for a Junior Java developer - UK BASED ONLY. This role involves working on long-term projects that support essential public services within a modern cloud environment. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality software solutions under an initial six-month contract with long-term project visibility.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining server-side logic using Java

• Working within an AWS cloud ecosystem to deploy and manage services

• Implementing containerised applications using Docker and EKS

• Practising Test Driven Development to ensure high code quality

• Collaborating with the team to manage CI/CD pipelines and version control

What we're looking for

• Approximately two years of professional experience in Java development

• Proficiency with AWS services including Lambda, SQS, S3, and EC2

• Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker and EKS

• Familiarity with Gitlab for version control and CI/CD processes

• Must have the right to work in the UK and be eligible for security vetting
