About the Position

This is a fully remote position for one of the top 20 accounting firms in Canada.

As a Junior Accountant you will be working on assignments under the direct supervision of a Senior, Manager, Director and/or Partner for all types of audit & assurance engagements for mostly smaller and mid-sized public companies. You will be working in a broad range of industries on a variety of engagements, including emerging industries such as cannabis and psychedelics, along with investment funds, financial institutions, health care and pension plans.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Working on different sections of audit files, as assigned and under the direction of senior and intermediate staff
• Understanding technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
• Ability to recognize relevant accounting and audit issues from basic analysis
• Building effective and long lasting working relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
• Providing valuable suggestions and contributions related to various assignments
• Responding effectively and efficiently to client, manager and partner requests
