Job Summary
Marathon Petroleum is seeking an experienced
IT Business Analyst
to support a large-scale enterprise software modernization initiative across multiple refinery locations. This role will serve as the liaison between refinery operations, business stakeholders, IT teams, and software vendors to ensure successful implementation and rollout of a COTS application used for product quality and laboratory operations.


The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis experience within
Oil & Gas, Refineries, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Industrial Operations, or Utilities
environments and a proven track record supporting enterprise software implementations.


Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with refinery users, business stakeholders, IT teams, and software vendors.
• Support COTS application upgrades, implementations, and multi-site deployments.
• Create user stories, functional documentation, process flows, and business requirements.
• Coordinate Agile project activities using Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
• Facilitate UAT planning, execution, defect tracking, and user adoption.
• Ensure solutions align with operational and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Refineries, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Industrial Operations, Chemical Manufacturing, or Utilities.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and software implementation projects.
• Experience supporting COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) applications.
