Position Summary
NexGen Steel is seeking an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department. This role is responsible for ensuring HR processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with company policies and employment laws across multiple states.
As NexGen Steel continues to expand nationally, the HR Operations Manager will play a critical role in building scalable HR systems, maintaining compliance, supporting payroll operations, administering HR technology, and coordinating safety compliance documentation. This position serves as the operational backbone of the HR department, allowing the Director of Human Resources & Safety to focus on strategic initiatives, executive partnership, talent acquisition, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, detail-oriented, and enjoys improving systems while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the Human Resources department.
- Maintain accurate employee records and confidential personnel files.
- Administer and optimize BambooHR and other HR systems.
- Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, wage adjustments, and separations.
- Prepare employment documentation and HR correspondence.
- Maintain HR templates, forms, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure HR processes are standardized across all company locations.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, automation, and operational efficiency.
Payroll Administration
- Coordinate and audit semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Review employee timecards and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
