Position Title: Data Analyst
Location: Within one of YMCA BC’s main hubs: Northern, Lower Mainland, or Interior Region
Term: Temporary, Full Time (6 months)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $28.00- $30.00 hourly
Reports To: Director, Data & Analytics
Major Responsibilities- *in this position, you will*:
- Perform data entry, validation, and quality checks to maintain accurate datasets across assigned YMCA BC portfolios
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into structured formats for analysis and reporting
- Acquire and manage data from primary and secondary sources; maintain databases and data systems
- Assist in data extraction and SQL queries from various sources, ensuring data integrity and completeness
- Clean and validate data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and leadership use.
- Design and optimize reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for decision-making
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
- Apply statistical techniques to interpret data and generate ongoing reports
- Collaborate with senior analysts on documentation, data cleaning, and report automation tasks.
Qualification-*you bring*:
- University degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, or SAS
