CPA / Hospitality Accountant

Café Coyote is a landmark in Historic Old Town, San Diego, known for its warm hospitality, authentic Mexican cuisine, and strong team culture. We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced CPA to oversee and support accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and administrative operations for our busy hospitality business.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations using ***QuickBooks Online***
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and monthly reporting
• Hospitality experience working with Tip Outs is a plus!
• Process and oversee payroll using Toast Processing and Paycor
• Review and reconcile bank accounts, daily sales reports and financial data
• Maintain accurate financial records, invoices, receipts, and employee files
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, payroll regulations, and tax requirements
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and vendor payments
• Support HR documentation, onboarding, and employee records
• Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and sales summaries for management
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all records
• May be required to work occasional weekends or holidays

Qualifications (Required):

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or restaurant industry
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with Toast POS, Toast Payroll, and Paycor preferred
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and internal controls
• Experience managing sales reporting and hospitality accounting processes
• Excellent organization, accuracy, and confidentiality with financial data
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

Compensation & Schedule:
