Civil Engineer/Project Manager - Public Works

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer/Project Manager for our Dallas office with at least 8-10 years’ experience and will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. This Project Manager position should have experience in the management and design of a wide range of public works projects. Duties include but not limited to, initial project research, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out efforts.

Registration(s): Registered Professional Engineer (PE License) Required

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Duties:

• Function as a Lead Civil Engineer.
• Prepare preliminary engineering reports.
• Research jurisdictional requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
• Prepare of proposal/contract and of project work plans and schedule.
• Prepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and information obtained from research activities.
• Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work.
• Prepare GIS exhibits using ArcGIS.
• Conduct site visits and documents findings.
• Work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
• Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence.
• Writes or prepares graphic materials for presentations or documents.
• Lead a team of engineers and drafters.
• Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate.
