Position Overview:
The O’Neill Group is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Civil Site Superintendent / Project Manager (with GPS Survey Expertise) to lead site preparation and utility installation across our ground up wood frame multi-unit construction projects. This role blends field-level supervision with project oversight, ensuring all grading, excavation, debris removal, and utility installation are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. The ideal candidate will have both hands-on expertise and management experience, with proven proficiency in blueprint/plan reading, construction technology, and GPS survey equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee site preparation activities: clearing, grading, excavation, cut-and-fill, and debris removal.
- Coordinate trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling for water, sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utilities.
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Review and interpret **blueprints, civil/site drawings, and construction plans** to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Utilize **construction management software** (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent) to track schedules, documentation, and reporting.
- Employ **GPS survey and machine control equipment** for grade checks, elevations, and site layout verification.
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and meet deadlines.
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical, timely solutions to maintain workflow.
- Operate or support heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, compactors) when required.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conducting toolbox talks and ensuring a safe job site.
