The NYSTEC Don Hanson Internship Program offers students the opportunity to work alongside NYSTEC professionals to apply academic knowledge in a real-world consulting environment. Internship Experience  – Business and Data Analyst Intern


As an intern in NYSTEC’s Modernization and Data Solutions practice area, you will support research, requirements documentation, data analysis, and reporting. You will help improve internal tools and documentation standards while building foundational analytical skills and contributing to high-quality project deliverables.


Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of requirements documentation and assist with background research activities
• Assist with data cleanup, validation, and basic analyses under team guidance
• Help prepare dashboards and reporting materials to support project tracking and decision-making
• Contribute to creating and refining internal templates, tools, and documentation standards
• Support consistency and quality across project deliverables
• Participate in internal and client-facing meetings and help prepare reports and presentations
• Learn and apply NYSTEC tools and processes while collaborating with internal and external partners

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and ability to query and join datasets
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau, building simple dashboards
• Familiarity with data cleaning and transformation concepts
