About the role:

Smooth Commerce is looking for an Accountant to join our finance team. As the
Accountant at Smooth Commerce, you will be responsible for working in close
collaboration with our Director of Finance to meet the finance team’s objectives.
This is a maternity leave contract role, expected to run approximately 6-10 months
(potentially longer), focused on maintaining continuity, accuracy, and reporting discipline
during the leave period. The role is primarily executional.

You’ll be working within a SaaS environment with recurring revenue, using established
accounting systems and processes, with support from our Director of Finance.

What will you be doing?

• Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Preparation of weekly operational cash flow forecasts.
• Execute accounting activities around all aspects of the business, including but

not limited to; company payables, accounts receivables, revenue recognition, GL
maintenance, bank/ Float payments/ reconciliations, etc.

• Prepare, calculate and submit quarterly PST & GST/HST returns.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors to assist with the annual
