Staff Accountant – Client Services

About this role

Regal Group CPA is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant – Client Services to support a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients with accounting, sales tax, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and client accounting support.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional with recent CPA firm or public accounting experience who is comfortable working with multiple clients, maintaining accurate books, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end accounting needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Online, client accounting services, sales tax filings, payroll-related accounting entries, and financial statement preparation. Experience with income tax preparation is a plus, but not required.

Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 base salary

Responsibilities

• Support accounting for multiple small and mid-sized business clients
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain general ledger activity and prepare journal entries
• Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple clients
• Review financial transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and completeness
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
• Assist with cleanup projects, accruals, and client reporting needs
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure confidentiality of client data
• Communicate with clients regarding accounting questions, missing information, deadlines, and reporting needs
• Support tax preparation workflow by helping ensure client books are accurate, complete, and ready for tax review
