Software Engineer, Backend - Institutional Products

About this role

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer Backend - Institutional Products to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. You’ll build and maintain systems that power mission-critical Finance & Insurance workflows. You’ll collaborate with product and peers to design clean, scalable solutions. This role values craftsmanship, impact, and ownership.


Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available


Compensation: $152,405 – $179,300 annually.


Responsibilities

• Decompose a monolithic Rails application into microservices
• Articulate a long-term vision for backend systems maintenance and scaling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate vision into a quarterly roadmap
• Write and maintain high-quality, tested code to fulfill customer requirements

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering
• Proven experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services
• Ability to compose a service-oriented architecture
• Skill in writing high quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs
• Passionate about creating an open financial system
