About this role
An employer is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and run agents that automate work across digital commerce and transformation programs. This is a hands-on, product-minded role focusing on delivering governed agents that enhance business workflows.
The Role
- Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents using Microsoft's AI platform.
- Ensure agents meet the client's Agentic Framework for registration, authentication, authorization, observability, and certification.
- Collaborate with program managers, data engineers, BI developers, solution architects, and security partners.
- Define best practices and write code for AI agent development.
- Comfortably navigate ambiguity, provide opinions on evaluation, and clearly explain agent capabilities and limitations.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year building production LLM-based or agent-based applications.
- Strong Python skills; C# or TypeScript are a plus, along with fluency in asynchronous APIs, REST, GraphQL, JSON schemas, and Git workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft AI services like Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Copilot Studio, Semantic Kernel, or Microsoft Agent Framework.
- Practical experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including chunking, embeddings, vector search, reranking, and retrieval evaluation.
