A well-established independent CPA firm is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join a close-knit team with a broad compliance practice and a strong focus on flow-through entities.

The role

You'll sit at the senior level of a lean tax team, with direct exposure to partners and meaningful responsibility from day one. The work spans compliance, planning, and a bit of accounting - federal and state returns across individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, with bookkeeping integrated into the workflow for a subset of clients. In busy season you're heads-down on prep; in the off-season there's genuine capacity for planning work and technical research.

You'll review work from associates and collaborate with other team leads on workflow distribution. It's a role that suits someone who wants breadth and ownership, not a siloed compliance track.

What you'll be working on

• Complex federal and state returns: individuals, corporations, S-corps, partnerships, trusts
• Extensions and quarterly estimates
• IRS and state notice responses
• Financial statement preparation and analysis for small business clients
• Flow-through entity compliance - particularly rental partnerships
• Bookkeeping for select clients

What they're looking for

• 4–5 years in public accounting
• CPA license, or actively working toward it
• Comfortable across entity types - not just 1040s
• Hands on experience with QuickBooks and Lacerte
• MST or advanced tax degree: preferred, not essential

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary of $85,000 - $105,000 (depending on experience)
