Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Machine Learning

About this role

Most AI companies are trying to build bigger models. Our client is building something different.

Their mathematical AI platform detects threats by identifying subtle behavioural anomalies that traditional security tools simply cannot see. Rather than relying on signatures or predefined rules, the platform continuously learns how complex environments behave, identifying the earliest indicators of attack before traditional solutions can respond.

This is not an opportunity to build chatbots or train LLMs.

Instead, you'll build the distributed software platform that enables advanced machine learning and mathematical models to operate reliably at scale. Working alongside world-class software engineers, machine learning researchers and applied mathematicians, you'll solve complex engineering challenges where performance, scalability and reliability are critical.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll help engineer the production platform that powers advanced AI-driven cybersecurity technology by:

• ***Building highly scalable distributed systems processing millions of events in real time***
• ***Developing software supporting large scale mathematical inference engines***
• ***Deploying and operating containerised services using Kubernetes***
• ***Improving system performance, latency, resilience and throughput***
• ***Building fault tolerant, highly available production platforms***
• ***Optimising JVM-based services***
• ***Working closely with machine learning scientists to productionise advanced algorithms***
• ***Contributing to architecture decisions for secure, mission critical environments***
