Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using **Node.js and TypeScript**
• Design and support **event-driven systems** using Kafka or similar technologies
• Develop APIs and integrations with enterprise systems
• Build and troubleshoot containerised applications using **Docker**
• Design for reliability, including retries, idempotency, message ordering, and failure recovery
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions
• Write automated unit and integration tests
• Review code and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Use AI development tools to improve coding, testing, documentation, and workflows

Qualifications and requirements:

• **Senior-level commercial software engineering experience**
• Strong backend development experience with **Node.js + TypeScript**
• Hands-on **Docker/container** experience
• Experience with **Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Pulsar, Kinesis**, or similar messaging platforms
• Strong understanding of distributed/event-driven systems
• Experience designing **REST APIs and system integrations**
• Good knowledge of **Linux, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing**
• Experience taking software through production, releases, upgrades, and ongoing support
