About this role

Advantest is seeking a Software Engineer to join the US AI and Automation Team.
In this role, you will help design, develop, and deploy software solutions that
integrate AI capabilities into both internal engineering workflows and
customer-facing products.

You will work closely with software engineers, AI specialists, product teams,
semiconductor test experts, and customers to create scalable, maintainable, and
production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong software
architecture expertise, modern software development practices, and the ability
to lead technical initiatives from concept through deployment.

This position focuses first on software engineering excellence and architecture,
with opportunities to apply emerging AI technologies to solve complex
engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and architect scalable software systems supporting internal and
customer-facing applications.
* Lead technical design decisions, architecture reviews, and software
development best practices.
* Develop and maintain modern applications, services, APIs, and integration
frameworks.
* Collaborate with global engineering teams to define technical roadmaps and
solution architectures.
* Design and implement integrations between enterprise systems, engineering
platforms, cloud services, and AI-enabled applications.
* Utilize GitHub-based workflows including source control, code reviews, issue
management, and release processes.
* Evaluate new technologies and development tools to improve engineering
productivity and software quality.
* Mentor software engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
* Support customer engagements, technical workshops, proof-of-concepts, and
deployment activities where appropriate.
* Contribute to AI-enabled engineering solutions including automation,
knowledge systems, software copilots, and intelligent workflows.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software
Engineering, or related technical field.
* 5+ years of software development experience designing and delivering
commercial or enterprise software solutions.
* Strong software architecture and system design experience.
* Proficiency in modern software development languages such as Python, Java,
C++, Rust, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
* Strong understanding of Git-based development workflows and GitHub.
* Understanding of some networking and communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP,
gRPC)
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
* Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as
Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality
processes.
* Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with artificial intelligence technologies including:
* Large Language Models (LLMs)
* Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
* AI Agents
* MCP (Model Context Protocol)
* AI-assisted development tools

* Experience integrating AI services into production applications.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
* Experience in semiconductor test, semiconductor manufacturing, EDA, or
related industries.
* Experience with the Advantest V93000 / SmarTest ecosystem.
* Experience leading architecture initiatives or technical transformation
projects.
* Experience working directly with customers to define requirements and deliver
technical solutions.
