Ameresco is seeking an experienced Senior Power Engineer to support the development and execution of advanced thermal power generation projects across our energy infrastructure portfolio. This role will play a critical part in shaping project concepts, evaluating technology options, and supporting detailed engineering and construction readiness for power plants that support industrial, utility-scale, and behind-the-meter customers.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across multiple thermal prime movers—including reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE), combustion gas turbines, combined cycle power plants, and fuel cells—and is comfortable interfacing with customers, internal development teams, OEMs, and third-party engineering firms.
Responsibilities:
- Support project development teams by translating customer objectives into technically sound and constructible power plant concepts
- Lead or support technology selection and configuration for thermal generation assets, including:
- Reciprocating engine plants
- Simple-cycle and combined-cycle gas turbine facilities
- CHP / cogeneration systems
- Fuel cell-based generation systems
