As Senior Manager – Investment Strategy & ALM, you will support the Head of Investments in formulating and implementing investment strategy. You will be responsible for optimising strategic asset allocation (SAA) to maximise risk and capital adjusted returns; ensuring robust asset-liability management (ALM); day-to-day oversight of third-party managers; preparing reporting for Boards and Committees.
About The Job
While there is rarely a typical day, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:
- Investment Strategy & ALM: Formulate the optimal strategic mix of asset classes and mandates to drive our desired risk and return profiles, in conjunction with the Head of Investments and our investment partners, while working in conjunction with our reserving and capital teams to ensure effective ALM, including optimising FX and duration management.
- Manager Oversight: Lead the selection and investment oversight of external managers, including setting and reviewing guidelines and processes to ensure the effective execution of the strategy, in accordance with risk appetite policy suite. Lead the integration of responsible investment principles into SAA and manager selection. Rigorously monitor and challenge manager performance and compliance to mandates and policies including responsible investment, preparing detailed reports for the Board and Committees. Lead day-to day relationships with our investment managers. Leverage investment manager relationships to provide perspective and insights on investment opportunities and risks.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with treasury, reserving, capital and wider finance teams. Deliver and present papers to the Investment and Risk & Solvency Committees.
- Reporting & Analytics: Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Investment Committee, Board, and other governance forums.
