Senior Data Scientist

Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist, responsible for analyzing, documenting, and improving business and technical processes in support of government program objectives. This position evaluates end‑to‑end workflows within complex enterprise and data environments to ensure alignment between operational processes, system functionality, and contractual requirements. The role includes reviewing technical deliverables to verify compliance with Statements of Work (SOWs), identifying process gaps or risks, and supporting continuous process improvement efforts.

The Senior Data Scientist works collaboratively with cross‑functional technical teams, data analytics and data science personnel, and government stakeholders to assess system integrations, data flows, and governance processes. The position provides objective analysis and recommendations related to enterprise system design, process efficiency, and the application of emerging technologies, including automation and AI/ML, as they relate to business processes. The role requires the ability to clearly document findings, communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, and support program decision‑making within a regulated, government contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture as a Process: Deep experience in analyzing and optimizing the processes of a large-scale data ecosystem. This includes designing workflows for data publishing, discovery, and consumption in a decentralized or federated environment (e.g., Data Mesh or Data Fabric).
• Technical Process Validation: Demonstrable experience in analyzing technical deliverables against contractual requirements (SOW) and validating that the delivered system's functionality aligns with the stated business process.
