Senior Data Business Systems Analyst

About this role

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office (81 Bay Street, Toronto) at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for data platforms, analytics, and AI-driven solutions
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, data mappings, and user stories
Partner with data engineering and AI teams to design:
Data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
AI-enabled workflows and agent-based processes
Define and document data lineage, governance, and data quality rules
Support development of AI agents and use cases (e.g., process automation, decision support tools)
Facilitate workshops and drive stakeholder alignment across business and technology teams
Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation
Contribute to UAT planning and execution
Ensure compliance with banking regulatory and data governance standards
Act as a liaison between business units and delivery teams

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in data-centric environments
Strong experience with:
SQL and data analysis
Data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar)
ETL/ELT processes
Experience working in financial services (banking preferred)
Hands-on exposure to AI/ML or GenAI solutions
Understanding of AI agents, automation workflows, or orchestration tools
Experience writing:
User stories
Functional specifications
Data mapping documents
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models
Nice-to-Have
Experience with tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Airflow
Exposure to LLMs, prompt design, or AI copilots
Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, BCBS 239)
Experience supporting AI use cases in banking
