Senior Cost Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $100,000 to $130,000 per year.


Job Responsibilities

• Lead month end close activities and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory and cost of sales records within the accounting system.
• Analyze inventory subledger activity and align it with general ledger balances.
• Review and assess manufacturing overhead allocations and their impact on inventory values.
• Prepare variance analysis for inventory, accruals, and other key accounts to support reporting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 5+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes from raw materials to finished goods.
• Previous experience working with enterprise accounting systems and financial tools.
• Ability to review reconciliations and support period end accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial results clearly.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and previous experience using accounting software.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to review trends and identify variances.
