Security Software Engineer (Security Operations)

About this role

• We’re looking for a Security Software Engineer to join our Security Operations team. In this role, you’ll build and improve the systems, automation and operational workflows that help keep Pinterest secure day to day
• You’ll work across security and engineering to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions, build secure paved paths and improve how sensitive infrastructure and resources are managed across Pinterest
• This role offers broad exposure across cloud security, access management, automation and secure infrastructure, with opportunities to partner with many teams and work on a wide range of technical problems
• Build, maintain and improve security tooling, automations and services that support Security Operations
• Write production-ready code, infrastructure-as-code and technical documentation with a high bar for quality and reliability
• Improve security workflows such as access controls, cloud guardrails, service hardening and inbound security requests
• Partner with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps and deliver practical security solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve runbooks and help maintain healthy, reliable systems
• Contribute to technical designs, project plans and retrospectives, while clearly communicating progress, risks and blockers
• Use AI to speed up repeatable engineering work such as prototyping, documentation and code improvements, while validating quality and correctness
• Use AI to summarize operational signals, surface patterns and reduce manual toil, while protecting sensitive data and maintaining accountability for final outputs- Experience in cloud, security, and/or software engineering including building and operating production services, automations or internal tools
• Experience in cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code, especially in environments such as AWS and Terraform
