Remote Senior Accountant

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the financial health of the clients we support, specifically focusing on Australian taxation and business services. Your expertise will ensure that all accounting functions are completed accurately and on time, allowing our clients to thrive. You will work in a remote setting, coordinating effectively with client teams and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Accountabilities

• Perform general reconciliations of client data and maintain accurate electronic workpapers.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts for financial statement preparation.
• Set up new assets in the asset register with correct tax and accounting treatment.
• Handle GST reconciliations and prepare amended BAS as needed.
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns in Xero.
• Manage payroll using Xero or MYOB and identify discrepancies.
• Support complex client groups with turnover over $10M.
• Ensure compliance with Division 7A, FBT, GST, and CGT requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting and CPA/CA qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Australian taxation and business services.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting and tax legislation.
• Proficient in Xero Tax, Xero Bookkeeping, MYOB, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
