QA Automation Engineer - Appium/Playwright (Hybrid)

About this role

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing quality assurance standards within the project. This role involves creating test plans, executing both manual and automated tests, tracking defects, and providing regular progress updates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Development:

• Maintain and enhance the existing test automation framework by analyzing issues and applying timely fixes.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts based on functional and technical requirements.
• Contribute to the evaluation and selection of automation tools.
• Review business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans.
• Work independently to complete assigned tasks and resolve issues efficiently.
• Develop and maintain automated test cases and test plans.
• Document test results and ensure proper record-keeping.

Testing:

• Execute test cases and automation scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, feature, and bug-fix testing.
• Evaluate and determine which test scenarios are suitable for automation.
• Participate in defect tracking and resolution processes, including customer-reported issues.
• Conduct peer reviews of automated test scripts and optimize execution performance.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Appium/Playwright and test automation.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing.
• At least 1 year of experience working in an Agile environment.
• Strong experience in creating test cases, applying test design techniques, and executing various types of testing (functional, smoke, and performance testing).
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
