About this role
As a Project Manager within Credit Risk, you’ll report to the Senior Project
Manager and support the delivery of a programme improving the systems, data and
processes used to assess and manage credit risk. You’ll help establish and
maintain clear delivery plans, governance and controls, bringing together
colleagues from Credit Risk, technology, operations, data and third-party
partners to deliver agreed outcomes safely and effectively.
You’ll provide a single, reliable view of scope, milestones, dependencies,
risks, actions and decisions, using Jira and other planning tools to keep
delivery visible and controlled. By anticipating issues, enabling timely
decisions and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, you’ll help
deliver resilient change that supports good customer outcomes and meets
business, risk and regulatory expectations.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your
best.
This is an 18-month secondment opportunity.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding
relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues
together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to
home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and
to feel connected.
For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value
time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will
be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per
quarter. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our
hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working
time if part-time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring
manager will provide further details on how this works.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change,
as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this
recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a
temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an
application.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll be doing
You'll support the Senior Project Manager in the successful delivery of the
Credit Risk programme, helping to translate strategic objectives into clear
plans, milestones and deliverables. Working closely with both business and
technical teams, you'll coordinate activity across the programme, manage risks,
issues and dependencies, and ensure delivery information is accurately
maintained in Jira.
You'll play a key role in supporting project and programme governance, preparing
concise updates, decision papers and management information for forums and
stakeholders. Building strong relationships across the organisation, you'll work
with colleagues at all levels to resolve blockers, drive progress and keep
delivery on track.
Using your understanding of credit risk systems, processes and controls, you'll
help shape safe and effective change, challenging assumptions where appropriate
and ensuring both business and technical impacts are fully understood and
considered throughout delivery.
