About this role

Marketing and Communications Specialist
The role:
At Inside Travel, we create exceptional cultural adventures across Japan and Asia, and we’re looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist to help elevate our brands InsideJapan and InsideAsia in the Australian market.
Working closely with our Marketing and Communications Manager and global marketing team, you’ll play a key role in driving heightened brand awareness and commercial success. No day will look the same as you support the delivery of campaign activity across a broad spectrum of owned and paid channels.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for storytelling, a commercially sound marketing approach and exceptional organisational skills. You’ll thrive on variety, enjoy working with people and be confident keeping multiple projects moving in a fast-paced environment.
If you have a love for travel and want to build your marketing career within a growing international travel company that genuinely cares about the communities it sends people to, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
Coordinating local marketing and communications activity, keeping briefs, timelines, assets and stakeholders organised to ensure campaigns are delivered accurately and on time.
Creating and adapting engaging content for Australian audiences, from campaigns and social content to media materials and sales resources.
Supporting PR and media activity, including identifying story opportunities, drafting media materials, liaising with journalists and helping coordinate press trips and media visits.
Helping deliver consumer, trade, media and partner events and working with internal teams, agencies, suppliers and industry partners to bring activity together.
Monitoring marketing and PR activity, gathering market and customer insights, and helping identify opportunities to improve future campaigns and performance.
What we are looking for from you:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to communicate clearly with colleagues, media, agencies, suppliers and industry partners.
A sound understanding of the marketing mix and how different activity works together to build awareness, engage customers and ultimately support business growth.
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to keep multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders moving while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to take ownership of your work, adapt when priorities change and know when to ask for guidance.
A genuine interest in travel and culturally rich destinations. Experience in travel, hospitality, lifestyle or another customer-focused industry would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
Able to travel for company initiatives as needed and flexible to collaborate across time zones with the support of flexible hours and hybrid arrangements.
We recognise that job adverts can sometimes read like a wish list, and we don’t expect every candidate to tick every box. If you think you’d be a great fit for Inside Travel and this role, we’d love to hear from you.
Why us?
We are a B Corp Certified company that is committed to being a force for good, with a focus on creating positive outcomes for local communities and destinations.
25 days (5 weeks) of annual leave, rising by one day each year up to 28 days
Hybrid working arrangements
Discounts on Inside Japan and Inside Asia travel for yourself, family and friends.
Paid day off on your birthday
16 hours of paid volunteering leave
6 weeks paid parental leave (on top of statutory entitlements), regardless of gender
Learning & Education Assistance Program
Annual discretionary bonus, with OTE of one month’s salary, linked to individual and company performance
Perkbox discounts and regular staff socials
