Grants and Contracts Accountant

About this role

NAYA Family Center is seeking a detail-oriented Grants and Contracts Accountant to support the financial health of our grant-funded programs. Reporting to the Grants Accounting Manager, this role ensures compliance with all grant requirements while supporting internal reporting and invoicing. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of GAAP, experience with public and private grants, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

This is a full-time role with work hours of 9 am to 6 pm. Once training and onboarding are complete, there may be flexibility to work from home 1-2 day a week.

The salary for this position starts at $63,000 a year.

Who You Are

• You have 2–4 years of experience in accounting or financial services, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded organizations.
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field—or have equivalent experience.
• You understand GAAP principles, including revenue recognition and fund accounting, and are confident working with restricted and unrestricted funds.
• You’re experienced in preparing invoices, reviewing contracts and budgets, and ensuring grant compliance.
• You’re skilled in Excel and accounting systems (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus).
• You possess a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license and can be insured under NAYA’s liability policy.
• You have lived or professional experience working with diverse populations, particularly within Native American communities.
